What Causes Difficult Urination And Blood Clots In Urine?
Difficulty urinating during the night. I also experience, occasionally, small bright red blood clots at the end of urinating. this is not a daily occurrence. My urine is not blood tinged although it is dark yellow. this has happened for the past 3 days. could this be BPH?
Hello Thanks for query .. You have not mentioned your age in your query .
Difficulty in passing urine with frequent episodes of blood in urine (Hematuria) can be due to enlarged prostate .The bleeding in BPH occurs due to rupture of superficial vein on the surface of enlarged prostate and gets sealed of immediately and bleeding stops for a while The same episode is being repeated after few days .This is the reason for repeated episodes of Hematuria .
Please consult qualified Urologist for clinical and digital rectal examination and get following basic tests done to confirm the diagnosis. 1) Urine routine and culture. 2) Ultrasound scanning of abdomen and pelvis with specific mention of residual urine volume 3) Serum PSA. 4) Endoscopic examination of bladder (Cystoscopy)
Further treatment will depend upon result of these tests and final diagnosis.
