What Causes Difficult Urination While Taking Vicoprofen?

I am taking Vicoprofen daily, but noticed that I retain water and do not urinate that often and when I do it is rather difficult to start. Is this a side effect of the medication. I found it listed in a few places as a possible side effect, but wanted to double check. As the dose wears off, it becomes more easier to pee, but still not going that often when compared to how much I am drinking. I am 5 ft 11 in and weigh about 210.

Hi,

Hydrocodone in Vicoprofen can cause urinary retention. You should discontinue it, and take an alternative. As you have not mentioned the problem making you take Vicoprofen, I can't prescribe an alternative.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Fahum Akhter, General & Family Physician
