What Causes Difficulty During Liquid Intake Post A Surgery For Dysphasia?
Hello Doctor, my name is Leslie Michalec I m 58 years old and I live in ballston lake, New York. And my question is on August 24 of this year I had surgery for dysphasia and I still have a little problem with liquids not like before the surgery where I could not eat much of anything with out throwing it backup I lost 25pounds in 6weeks times Ido feel a lot better now that I had surgery I am still on specail soft diet in time going back to regular diet. So the little problem I still have with liquids is it something I have to talk to my doctor about orwil it clear up on its own. Thank-you Doctor for taking the time to answer my question Leslie Michalec.
Difficulty in drinking liquids after dysphasia surgery us due to 2 main causes; - a primary disease for which you have been on surgery - complication/adherences following surgery
If not improving in the following week, should consult with the surgeon who did the operation to check out for possible complications.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Albana Sejdini, General & Family Physician
