What Causes Discomfort In Chest And Chocking Sensation In Throat?
Hi, may I answer your health queries right now ? Please type your query here... I have a choking sensation along with some chest discomfort I will describe as pressure. Breathing is also different. Short, shallow breaths. EKG was okay. BP is 132/83. Heart skips some beats but then was okay. I am on Omeprazole for stomach. Also on Cymbalta, Wellbutrin and Abilify for Depression and Vyvanse for ADD. Estradiol because I have had a hysterectomy. I take Klonopin on occasion when I am anxious.
It may be due to anxiety lead to chest muscle spasm lead to tightness. Other possibilities like acid reflux into larynx lead to asthma like symptoms. Continue above medication and you may need cognitive behavioral therapy. Avoid cool drinks and ice creams. Avoid caffeinated drinks and alcohol. Do regular exercise and yoga. If there is no improvement, please consult with your psychiatrist he will examine and treat you accordingly.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
