General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I read carefully your query and understand your concern.

A narrowed esophagus can trap large pieces of food.

It is often caused by gastroesophageal reflux disease.

I suggest to do a Barium X xray to confirm the diagnosis.

Meanwhile,I suggest using medication to treat the acid reflux such as Maalox three times a day.

I also recommend to maintain a healthy diet.

Hope my answer was helpful.

If you have further queries feel free to contact me again.

Kind regards!
