What Causes Discomfort On Soft Palate?

My husband is experiencing occasional pain/discomfort in his soft palate near where it connects to his hard palate. He seems to have a pocket that collects liquids that he intakes. When liquid gets into the pocket he describes it as a burning sensation. Suggestions on what this could be or how it can be remedied?

Hello,

It may be due to sore throat.

For that you may require complete hemogram, throat swab after ENT consultation.

Continue saline or betadine gargles twice a day.

In case of fever you can take tablet acetaminophen.

Take hygienic food and water.

Avoid smoking and alcohol

Hope I have answered your query...
