Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Disorientation, Urinary Incontinence And Slurry Speech?
The past week to week and a half, he has experienced some disorientation, several accidents of incontinence during the night, a slight slurring of his speech. We took a urine sample to his ppo dr, which showed no UTI infection. My question is is it possible that he could of had a mini stroke?
The symptoms could be due to transient ischemic attack or mini stroke, Alzheimer's disease, depression, hypoglycemia, hypernatremia or increased sodium levels in blood, lewy body dementia, hypothyroidism or hyperthyroidism or dementia in motor neuron disease.
He requires complete physical examination and some tests that are necessary to arrive at a specific diagnosis and for appropriate treatment. Please do consult a neurologist as soon as possible.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Pallavi M., Anesthesiologist
