What Causes Distention In Bladder With Grade 5 Reflux?
My son had grade 5 reflux and damage to left kidney. At 15 months they removed bottom left Kidney and reimplanted ureter. now he w for routine ultrasound last monday and report says left ureter is dilated to 8.0 v/s on last 3.3. also distentment in the bladder, also a kidney cyst. should i be worried about cancer , also about dilation increasing?
Dear your sun may be suffering from vesicoureteric reflex(VUR) it is two types congenital one due defect in the valve at lower end of ureter leads to reflux of the urine back cause infection and dilation of ureter. Second one acquired vesicoureteric reflex due to any trauma obstruction of bladder or urinary passage gives this one. Posterior urethral valve may present in children may develop vur. I think your son developed grade 4VUR. Please ask your doctor weather it is primary or secondary VUR so treatment may vary. I think I answered to your question if you have more questions please feel free to ask.
