What Causes Disturbing Nasal Odor Post Tonsillectomy And Adenoidectomy?

I recently got a tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy, I am on day 10 and I have this awful smell in my nose. My friends and family say they can smell it and it is very embarrassing. Can you tell me what s the cause? Is it cuz of the recovery process? Please help.

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain bad smell from nose after tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy is an indication infection at the surgical site leading to foul odour from nose and it might be from mouth too..
It can also be due to infection in sinuses..
I would suggest you to consult your treating physician and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation can help in diagnosis and treatment can be planned accordingly.
The doctor can advise you antibiotics, painkillers, warm saline gargles and using antiseptic mouthwash..
