Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Dizziness Along With Elevated Blood Pressure Levels?
I have been having a lot of dizziness with some high blood pressure so I started back taking BL pressure med micardis 20 mg about 5 days ago. Went and was diagnosed by phys ther with bpv who performed epley maneuver today. I am still feeling bad and pressure is 187 over 97. I feel pressure and dizzy behind eyes.
For BPPV (Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo), Epley's maneuver is the only option to relieve dizziness. Initially, it causes dizziness you are feeling right now. However, on repeated exercises, it will fade away.
If Micardil 20 is not effective in lowering Blood pressure, increase the dose up to 40 to 80 mg per day. Get other investigation like lipid profile, kidney function tests, liver function test, and USG KUB.
Start early morning yoga and meditation. Decrease salt consumption. Have a stress free lifestyle to maintain low blood pressure.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Hiren Hirpara
