Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have wegeners or GPA (kidney involvement, but am in remission) and will be getting my 4th Rituxan infusian tomorrow. I ve noticed I get lightheaded easily. I don t know if it s related to that or other medications, but I also feel shaky, like you do when you haven t eaten for awhile. I also hit my right arm....didn t seem bad, one did hurt, but the other felt like I just bumped it, but now I have two really big bruises. I m also taking 6 1/2 mg of prednisone. I ve been tapering, but have been on prednisone since the end of Feb. I haven t checked my blood pressure but it s been running normal the last month...since I started Rituxan. Should I be worried about the lightheadedness? it s been happening off and on for the last three weeks...about.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
As per the medical facts, Rituxan infusion is an antibody therapy used to target cancer producing cells via CD20 protein, with some effect on normal body cells. The dizziness and body tremors are possible effect on those normal body cells and immune response of body cells to that. I do not suggest to take tension for that, rather continue to maintain hydration to combat the issue.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel
