What Causes Dizziness And Body Tremors?

My 18 year old daughter has spells where she feels very lightheaded, loses her balance and shakes uncontrollably for 1-2 minutes. She denies any dehydration and is not on any medication. No fever or chills. This occurs maybe once every couple months.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

According to your description, possibility of neurological abnormalities can be predicted. Is she on any medication? Is this first time she experiences problem or it happened previously also?

First, consult physician and get routine investigation done:
- Routine blood investigation
-Serum electrolytes
-Liver and kidney functions tests

If all are normal, then consult the neurophysician and get EEG done. These symptoms could be due to absence seizure. So, it is better to move ahead in proper way and get treatment after proper diagnosis.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Hiren Hirpara
