What Causes Dizziness And Feeling Of My Brain Shutting Down?

Sometimes, but rarely, an image, or a sound, or the general feeling a place gives me, may make me feel like... my brain is shutting down or something, for a second or less. I get dizzy and lose focus of whatever I was doing and I m certain I d faint or get a stroke or something if it lasted for more than a second. I m 17.
