What Causes Dizziness And Lightheadedness In A 42 Year Old Woman?
I got dizzy about3 hours ago driving home. I have eaten and I haven t gotten to hot. I just don t know what could be wrong. I haven t taken any meds to make me woozy. I don t feel bad except I m still very light headed when I get up. I haven t started any new medication or had any changes in my diet or routine. Any ideas would be helpful I m 42 yrs old and female not pregnant or on my period.
Dizziness with no other accompanying symptom is very likely self-limiting. A viral infection may often be the case. I would advise you to continue to keep yourself hydrated and make sure you eat well and rest as possible. Standing up with care to prevent falls is important as well. Generally, no treatment is needed in most patients and symptoms fade within a few days.
If you notice no improvement in 3-4 days, or you notice any worsening, please see your doctor.
I hope this answers your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General & Family Physician
