Got up today with a few symptoms that have me a bit worried. Do not recall any recent trauma to my head, but there is a lump on the top side of my head . It does hurt and feels very warm. Feeling a little dizzy and very tired, having trouble focusing?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and understand your concern.

It is very unlikely the symptoms with dizziness and fatigue to be related to the head lump, very likely they are 2 different things.
It is important to have a visit and find out what is causing the lump, if it is red, warm and painful than it still may be a dermoid cyst that is bursting (it is a very common condition and not dangerous) or it might be a skin infection and the doctor should be able with a visit to know which is the case.

The dizziness and fatigue may be also reactionary due to stress and fear of what is going on or can be related to something else. If they are for less than a week than you might need to just wait and see for another few days. If the dizziness and fatigue are lasting for more than a week you will need tests to be done to rule out anemia, infection and other possible causes of it.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Kind regards,
Antoneta Zotaj, MD
