What Causes Dizziness And Vertigo And Shaky Legs After An Emergency C- Section?
7 weeks ago I had an emergency c section and had to have an epidural and a spinal block. Ever since i have been severely dizzy and have a feeling of vertigo which makes me feel sick! Now for the last few days both of my legs feel dead and achy! What is this I really need help!!
Hi, Thanks for the query. Spinal and epidural anesthesia can lead to side effects like hypertension, headache etc. Rarely serious side effects like meningitis can develop. For more details: http://srsree.blogspot.in/2012/02/obstetrical-anesthesia-spinal.html But getting side effects weeks after cesarean section is some what rare. Blood loss during cesarean section can lead to anemia and that can present with symptoms like dizziness, weakness etc. So, once consult gynecologist and get tested for: Hemoglobin levels, blood sugar levels, blood pressure etc. If needed she will advice for neurological testing. Depending on the results, the cause of your problem can be identified and treated. Take care.
