Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Dizzy Spells Along With Reduced Blood Pressure And High PSA Levels?
My husband is 74 and we have lived at 8,400 for over two years. The last couple of months he is getting dizzy and is on Losartan. His blood pressure is 97/53. Should he stop the blood pressure medication, as he is also on a high dose of Levofloxacina, for high PSA levels of 8.51, for a month.
This is most likely due to the side effect of excessive dose of Losartan as Losartan causes dizziness and fainting. Please if your husband would be my patient, I would advice him to reduce the amount of losartan medication or even stop according to patient condition. Also there is drug interaction exist between Losartan and Levofloxacin. Your husband is getting dizzy spells because of blood pressure medication. I advice your husband to contact his physician as soon as possible and change medication of blood pressure in order to minimize side effects as we have to be always on safe side and patient safety is our top priority. I think, this would help.
