What Causes Drainage Of Vaginal Clots During Menstruation?

About two years back, I noticed that my period lasted for 8 - 10days. The last 3 days of the period are mostly slight spotting. The current period cycle started may 30, on day 5 when the period should be winding down, I got up from my bed in the afternoon, felt a sudden rush of blood flow down and clots of blood fell out. Though i didn t have serious bleeding after that, I noticed that for two days after this incident, there was hardly blood flow in the morning, except in the mid afternoon, where more clots were observed. And now day 10, more clots and blood at night. I am 42 ages old, no kids. I also noticed that I bleed more after having a meal. Thank you

Hi I think you should do a thyroid profile and prolactin level and a ultrasound done to see uterus and ovaries to find out the cause of heavy bleeding during periods. Consult a gynecologist for complete examination to rule out any cervical pathology. You can take some medicines like tranexamic acid to stop the bleeding. Hope it helps.
