What Causes Drooping Of Eyelids Along With Elevated Blood Pressure?

Yesterday, I woke up and both of my eyelids were drooping. This has never happened before. They are heavy on my eyes and it feels crazy. The only thing I can think of is my blood pressure was high two days ago. The next morning is when they began drooping. It kinda scared me that it seemed to happen overnight. I am 54. I realize at my age, things start to fall, but surly not overnight! ha!

hi.

noted history of ptosis and elevated blood pressure. it may or may not be related to each other, but both should be evaluated clinically. you may have hypertension, which needs to be controlled. a consult with an internist or a cardiologist may be best. regarding the drooping of your eyelids, any neurologic and ophthalmologic condition must be ruled-out, as this may impose a significant underlying pathology. a consult with a neurologist is advised for clinical evaluation. diagnostics and management will be directed accordingly.

hope this helps.

good day!!
