Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My lips started off as chapped but now they appear burned. I have been using Carmex and then I stopped and started using vaseline because they were so dry and I thought that the Carmex was not right for me. Anyway this has been going on for about two weeks. They became healed with no stinging or burning and were dry enough for me to scrap the dead dark skin away. No it has started over again. I thought the vaseline was the answer but evidently it is not. What do you suggest I use to treat what I am thinking is chapped lips?
Hello, Check your habits at night. are you breathing by mouth instead of your nose? Snoring? Or excess salvia? Dehydration can be a factor. Drink plenty of water and make sure vitamins are balanced. VitaminE oil can be helpful. Vasaline is ok. You want to keep moisture in. Bag Baum is a good product. Aloa containing products may help. Natural or organic products remove any chance of a reaction to other ingredients or preservatives. You may have to try a few products to decide what works best for you. Applying multiple times is often needed. Thsnk you for your inquiry,
