What Causes Dry, Burning And Chapped Lips Before And During Menstruation?

For the past 4 months I've experienced dry, burning, cracked & chapped lips before & during my menstrual cycle. It only happens then, it is not winter or really windy at ask to contribute to it. I'm 30 years old, 5'2" & I weigh 120lbs. Are my hormones out of whack? My whole mouth & throat feel drier all the time & when I'm eating anything, I now have to take constant sips of water to avoid choking on my food. Help! I'm on Diflucan & have been for 1 month 1 week now for mold related illness but the issues with my dry lips started well before I began taking the medicine. Thanks for any answers or advice you can give me!

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern..

As per your complain dry chapped lips occurring during menstruation can occur due to few reasons like:
1.Due to hormonal changes that takes place during menstruation..
2.At times mood swings occurs due to hormonal changes in females during menstruation which can cause stress and causes biting of lips which can lead to dryness and cracking..

Nothing to worry, just apply petroleum jelly or bees wax containing lip balm as they help in locking moisture and maintain lubrication..
Drink plenty of water and avoid sucking or biting the lips..

For dry mouth you will have to consult n Oral Physician and get evaluated for any fungal infection in mouth or for other causes that can cause dry mouth like side effect of medicines, salivary gland diseases, long standing dehydration etc..
As of now for dry mouth chew sugarfree chewing gums as they help in increasing saliva flow..
Artificial saliva agents can also be instilled in mouth and you can get them easily from pharmacist store..
