Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, My husband had severe coughing spells after a bout of viral. The cough was dry and the throat felt itchy so much that he couldnt sleep. The doctor prescribed augmentin and anti allegics (levocet) which he took for a week but no efect and it gets worse when he is lying down. there was no effect of medication. so we shifted to hmeopathic medicine..though there was some relief..now he can sleep at night...but the throat has worsened...now his voice is hoarse and when he speaks it induces cough and when he eats or drinks something even mildly hot or salty it makes him cough so much that he he sometimes choke...n when he coughs his nose blocks too...maybe that causes choking...he went to doctor again he prescribed zocef and levocet ...tht thing is we dont know what is the reason for that...earlier the doc said it was just nasal drip...but the cough was too severe so we dont know what to believe
