Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Dry Mouth And Difficulty In Swallowing?
My throat is bone dry, and mouth is completely dry despite drinking plenty of water. Begun about 3-4 days ago. It’s so dry that I can barely swallow. I am fully hydrated as I drink all day long. Try to drink to wet the mouth n it kind f seems as if it’s not even wetting it. I do smoke cigs but it’s never happened before. Not that I can remember anyway. My mother has diabetes & high blood pressure so that’s the only medical condition in my family that I know of. Thank u!
Well come to HCM Thank for asking I really appreciate your concern, couple of conditions are there that could be cause of dry throat one is infection and second is hyperacidity some time both altogether could be the reasons, it could be allergic condition too. If I would be the treating physician of this case then I would try to treat this case with following medicines 1) Azithromycin 500 mg once in day for three days 2) Levocetirizine 10 mg once in day 3) Omeprazole 40 mg once in day saline water gargling would be helpful too, stop smoking, shouting, speak in low tone, but voice rest is the best solution, given family history of your mother is nothing to take anything with this. hope this information helps.
