What Causes Dryness In The Mouth While Having Psoriasis?
What does it mean when you are 93 years old and one day your mouth gets super dry not only when you're lying down but standing up too, Does psoariasis have anyhing to do with it which I have had for many years? Or does it just mean all my organs are dying one at a time ? Is there any cure or do I just grin and bear it, as they say? Since you are not this old maybe you do not have any idea what I am talking about ne'ce Pas? I forgot to tell you I am male, if that matters. Lee
Dry mouth or Xerostomia is not a disease in itself but it can be a symptoms of any underlying disease.. There are a number of common causes that can cause dry mouth like side effects of medication if you are taking any, salivary gland disorders, nerve damage that supply salivary gland, severe dehydration, fungal infection or thrush in mouth, hormonal disturbances etc.. So you should get checked by a Physician to rule out the cause of the dry mouth.. Once the cause will be treated you will get better.. For now you can start symptomatic treatment like chewing sugarfree chewing gum, suck lemon drops. You can start using oral lubricating gels like Oralgel and instil artificial saliva drops.. Drink plenty of water. You can also be advised medication like Pilocarpine as it helps in improving saliva flow..
Hope this helps..
Regards..
