What Causes Dysphagia With Feelings Of Esophagus Cramping And Pain?
My question is related to what feels like my esophagus is cramping. It starts in the back of my throat and goes down my back and also involves the front side of my chest. Nothing brings relief. I just lay down and wait for the pain to subside. I take prilosec daily for continuing heartburn. I have had parathyroid surgery a little more than one year ago and had hoped to stop taking the Prilosec but have not been able to stop due to heartburn. I am desperate for a solution as the pain is severe.
Possible causes are like: 1. Gastro esophageal reflux disease 2. Esophagitis 3. Diffuse esophageal spasm 4. Hypokalemia or achalasia cardia etc. 5. Cardiac or muscular pain
Until examination is done, it is difficult to say what it is. Use tablet levosulfuride 25 mg for five days. Avoid spicy food and alcohol. Avoid smoking. If no improvement, please consult your physician / gastroenterologist, he will do an upper GI endoscopy and treat you accordingly.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
