Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have severe ear pain which is because of ear infection which sometimes remain persistent and leads to recurrent otitis media and ear pain. You are having radiating pain as well. Need not to worry. You should do warm saline gargles , take steam twice a day and apply warm dry compresses to external ear . I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper diagnosis. Doctor may examine by otoscopic means to check level of infection. Doctor may order throat swab test , viral culture test and allergy test to confirm the diagnosis . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics ( amoxicillin or penicillin) at least for 10 days along with decongestant and anti inflammatory.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
