What Causes Early Menstruation Along With Irregular Vaginal Spotting?

I m in my late 30 s and just experienced spotting followed by my period which was 12 days early. I have no pain and no other abnormal vaginal fluid excretion. Also no pain when I urinate. What could cause my period to come this early along with the irregular spotting? I have been under a lot of emotional stress over the last year from marriage and job challenges. This has caused poor sleeping and irregular eating habits as well Thank you

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my clinical experience, the irregular menses with vaginal spotting do indicate possible low hemoglobin as iron deficiency, anemia or stress related hormone changes underlying. Kindly get a basic work up with your OBGYN for the further guidelines and cure accordingly as this will require you to get evaluated for
- Complete hemogram
- Ultrasound of the abdomen and pelvis

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
