What Causes Electric Sock Feeling During Bowels With Pressure In Abdomen?

Hello, I have Crohn's disease (currently in remission), gastritis, few ulcer on my esophagus. During the day I have a feeling of bowel obstruction (but dont have any stricture in my bowels), and during the night I have feeling of "kind of electric shock" in my bowels and pressure that goes up to my stomach and throat. Very scary feeling.I was on azathioprine for 6 years. Now I am of for 4 months. What could be the problem?

Hello,

The symptoms you have may not be due to any pathology, but it seems to be nonspecific and most of the time it is the functional kind of disorder causes such symptoms.

Just try to come out of the stress, and it is nothing to worry, if this is the case of ulcerative disease of GI tract, then it may cause the burning sensation but not the symptom that is being explained here.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Akhtarhusain
