What Causes Electrical Sensations Going Through My Body Making It Difficult To Sleep?

I have had electrical sensations going through my body since March, 2013. Blood test all normal. Saw neurologist: MRI of brain and c-spine normal. Evoked potential normal. EMG normal. It's much worse when lying down and when I awake, I literally have to jump out of bed because it is so intense. Interesting that it is much worse when I lie down. Saw endocrinologist: normal thyroid scan and adrenal test. Neurologist baffled. Saw psychiatrist who had no answers but tried me on various meds with no good results. Recently treated for lyme-blood antibodies positive-doxycycline for 28 days. Nothing helped. Feeling frustrated and hopeless that this will last the rest of my life and it has become debilitating. Any ideas?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi, Welcome to Health care magic forum.
As you describe, it appears to be the neuralgia, may or may not be secondary to the spondylosis, at some level.
I advise you to consult an orthopedic surgeon for diagnosis and treatment.
You may need to have an M.R.I. for diagnosis.
I usually prescribe to my patient with such symptoms nuerotropic injections for 10 consecutive days and then periodically. supplements of calcium, vitamin D, and pain killers when needed.
Avoid taking potato, other tubers, tomato, egg, chicken, and sea foods.
wishing for a quick and complete recovery. Thank you.
