Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had a cardiac ablation last Monday to treat atrial fibrillation. I had high blood pressure before the procedure, and I was on meds for that. Since the procedure, my blood pressure has been significantly higher than before even after my Dr added another BP medication on Thursday. Is this typical and go away?
Atrial fibrillation is a severe complication of high blood pressure (bp). If follows cardiac ablation, it might need a little more time to get bp back to acceptable levels as it was before. So I advise to keep regular follow up with your doctor. Take meds as prescribed correctly. Monitor your BP and record the results.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
