Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Elevated BP Along With Excessive Burping?
My blood pressure has been in the range of 150 to 170 over 90 for the past few days. Have been burping an awful lot and have chest pressure coming from the stomach up on my left side. My history is low blood pressure 120/80. Walked 30 minutes yesterday, brought bp down to 140. Discomfort in my uper stomach area. Went to the hospital was told I am a healthy woman nothing to worry about.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Intermittent and mild elevation of blood pressure is alright sometimes. Burping and rising blood pressure is most commonly associated with obesity and diabetes and can be associated with both.
That is something to worry about, but if the hospital drew a blood test, then they would have found it. If it were serious with the obesity, then you would obviously know about.
We cannot say in your particular case, but generally, these are the most common causes.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Matt Wachsman
