What Causes Elevated BP And Dizziness?

my blood pressure went from 193/92 and the dizziness was intolerable. This morning I awoke to a very low BP of 76/54. I have been so light headed I can hardly walk. I am taking 10 mg fosinopril, because my blood pressure was a little high. I also take 4 mg terazosin for my bladder. I am 76 years old. I have added L-arginine, 500 mg, COQ10 and magnesium in an effort to feel better, I had a gastrectomy in 1965 and now also have a redundant colon. I am very nauseous.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I don't know what was your heart rate before starting the beta blocker but you should talk with your primary care physician to correct dosage or change the drug.

To treat hypertension there are many other drug classes that do not interact with heart rate. 42-47 is a low heart rate so I suggest you have a consult with your doctor.

I am sure everything is going to be alright with changes I mentioned.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Suzana Zharri, General & Family Physician
