What Causes Elevated Blood Pressure And Dizziness?
Hi my husband has high blood pressure and heart problems, he was given Metoprolol Tartrate 100mg. He is getting dizzy. Years ago doctor gave me 25mg when I have already very log blood pressure. I do not know why this high doze given to him. I will have him to ask doctor lower the dose. Is there anything you advise
The dizziness is likely due to hypotension associated with metoprolol use. Lowering the dose of metoprolol will resolve the issue. Please be advised to follow up with your treating physician to lower the dose of metoprolol. If he notices any chest discomfort, pain, shortness of breath or palpitations along with the dizziness, an EKG is recommended to rule out any cardiac events.
Hope this answers your questions Please address further questions here Regards, Dr.Lekshmi
