They spike rapidly, I am going to see my dr. Today to find answers. Any ideas what could be causing this? I am 55 female.
First of all it's sad to know what you had been going through lately. Based on the history you have shared, it can be essential or primary hypertension due to age-related stiffness of blood vessels.
By Starting angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors like lisinopril etc alongside lifestyle modification like walk and exercise etc you can achieve good control. Salt intake should also be minimized.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
