What Causes Elevated Blood Pressure Despite Taking Cozaar And Diuretic?
my blood pressure has been running very high. I am taking cozar and a diuretic but it is still high. yesterday is was 163/103 and most of the time 150/90+ the diruretic seems to make me naseaus and just feeling bad. I was told that drinking coconut water would help bring it down.. If so how much should I drink a day. thanks
Hello! It seems you have grown resistant to all the antihypertensives you are taking and may need an increase in the dose and possibly addition of a new antihypertensive. Drinking coconut water is not the solution and may also be potentially harmful in case of kidney conditions. I would suggest you stop drinking it. The salts in it may also be the reason for your increased BP recordings. Kindly see your doctor and get your renal function tests done and follow a stricter low salt diet. Hope this helps. Regards, Dr Geeta
