What Causes Elevated Blood Pressure In A Cardiac Patient?

Hello, my Father who is 77 yrs. old has a Pacemaker and has had 9 stents placed since 9/2015. He is experiencing very high blood pressure reads the last two weeks and was told since his heart rate is stable between 70-80 he isn t suppose to worry. Last night it was 230/103 and after 2 nitro pills and a blood pressure medicine over an hour and half he was able to get it down to 189/89. Again, he was told not to worry today when he called into the Cardiology office. I am very concerned.

HI
Well come to HCM
I really appreciate your concern, hpertension and coronary atery diseaase are two different condition because normotensive subject may have coronary artery diseae and on other hand hypertensive patient may not suffer from this, even long standing hypertension seen with no cardiac diseaese, hypertension can be controlled easily and changing life style helps the lot, so this is nothign to worry but once it is the stenting done then it needs to be kept under observation hope this information helps.
