Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Elevated Blood Pressure Level And Heaviness In The Head?
I have hypertension. I take a medicine Erital 40. I was out in the summer sun yesterday for around 10 minutes. After that I felt uneasy the whole day. When I checked my BP during the night it showed a reading of 100/70 to 110/70. My symptoms are slight heaviness in the head. Gas burps on and off. In the morning after tea and breakfast I am feeling better. The reading now shows 120/80. Should I continue with my above medicine ?
Heaviness of head on exposure to sun on a bright sunny day can be due to nasal congestion or sinusitis. Since, your blood pressure readings are within normal limits on a medications called Erital.
I think you have to continue it, monitor blood pressure on different times for many days to be seen by your treating Doctor to decide whether you needed to continue the medication or not. Do not alter the things on your own. Also get Evaluation for the heaviness of head, eye tests, ENT opinion and further investigations as needed.
Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
