thank you for posting your query in healthcaremagic.com..... well wellbutrin or bupropion is not known for causing elevated blood pressure as a side effect whereas a common side effect of effexor or venlafexine is high blood pressure.....so if you are taking both of these drugs its probably because of effexor that you are recording higher blood pressure... wellbutrin is unlikely to be the reason... also as you have said, age can be a probability... its very common to have somewhat elevated blood pressure as age progresses.. i would advise you to get your blood pressure tested by professionals, also get your lipid profile and fasting/random blood sugar done..... you can also visit your physician for changing of the effexor medication... get back to me with the results and reports.... hope this was helpful... regards
