What Causes Elevated Blood Pressure Levels While On Nifedipine?
My husband age 83 started taking nifedipine cc (Adalat cc) 30mg daily for blood pressure. A doctor in the rehab he was in after being in the hospital following a fall due to weakness - he had a rhino virus and couldn t get up , etc on his own. He was in rehab 2 weeks and along with other medications he is now taking the above drug. His BP, etc was was 124/87, 125/66 and 128/84, but his pulse was 147, 140 and 141. Would this medication cause this and should I notify his doctor.

Hi,
You should see the doctor again, as the rapid heart beat may be atrial fibrillation. A benign condition, that however may require medicine.
