What Causes Elevated Blood Pressure Levels While On Ranitidine?
i take ranitidine 2 times daily. ive noticed over time my blood pressure has gone up to 165/99 and then back to 148/74. no chest pain. but lately have bloody residue in my nose when blowing nose, blurry vision. head feels like im in a fog. just an overall weird feeling. some or all could be allergies since my wife smokes and house is dry and alittle dusty. live in cold michigan.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Ranitidine drug will not cause an increase in blood pressure. However, rising blood pressure can lead to problems like vision changes, foggy head etcetera.
Please be advised to follow up with your primary provider to confirm hypertension and the underlying cause.
Meanwhile, exercise regularly and follow the DASH (Dietary approach to stop hypertension) diet.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Lekshmi Rita Venugopal
