For the past week, I have been having a problem with high blood pressure and it really scares me. I have been keeping in touch with my doctor who is 35 miles from here. He has me monitoring it every day but does think everything will be ok but wants to see me in 3 weeks.

I have been trying to deal with the systolic higher numbers, but 30 minutes ago, I took it and the diastolic was 96. That really scared me cause it has always been in the 60's or 70's.

For probably a year or close to it, both my numbers have been great, except for an occasional high one. The top number has been in the 120's and teens most of the time. Don't know what is going on, but it doesn't seem right. Otherwise, I had been doing ok.

I am 5'1 inches tall and am 79 years old.
