What Causes Elevated Blood Pressure?

My blood pressure is sometime elevated, (over 150) when i first check it at home, and if I take it 2 or 3 times it drops to 120-135. My Dr keeps on me about it, because the technician only checks it when I first walk into the examining room and I think there is a normal variation. I m 81 and I work out 3X /week. But I don t want to have to take meds for what I feel is a normal range of BP All my blood panels are right in the mid range.

Hi and welcome to HCM,
It is normal for the BP to vary, hence multiple readings are advised.
At your age, your BP seems to be alright, though you did not mention the diastolic BP.
I feels continue your usual work outs and keep a tab on your BP.
All the best!!
