So long term iv canulla is also one of the cause of elevated blood white cells. Some skin bacterial flora might have gone inside via canula. So now you should go for culture report of that IV canula along with 3 blood culture set to diagnose which causing this elevated white blood cells count. Iv canulla should be remove every 3-5 days ideally. So ask for this investigation and follow advise of your doctor.
