Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am 62, and post menopausal with pelvic pain, My GYN attemped an endometrial biopsy due to an ultrasound showing a very thick uterine lining. He was unable to access my uterus due to my cervix could not be opened even after pre-medication with cytotec. What could cause this?
if you are on unopposed estrogen therapy it can cause endometrial hyperplasia, but in view of your age and and menopausal status something serious could be suspected like endometrial carcinoma, better wait for the biopsy report for confirmation before coming to any conclusion.
