What Causes Enlargement Of Sternum And Increased Heart Beats?

over the past few years i have noticed that the left side if my chest plate seems to be getting larger. It is very visable and I am 29 years old. I have a fast heart rate of around 108 beats per minute at rest and had a ECG done already and was told everything is fine. I just want to know why this may be.

Hi,

Enlarged sternum is not a common finding and it might be a normal variant and doesn't suggest any disease conditions. As the ECG is fine nothing much to worry about and you can go for an echo test just for reassurance.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
