Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
i am 52 and have noticed my eyes are watering in the morning. They also are hard to open at times and are very sensitive to the light. I need to put sunglasses on and it improves later on in the day. What is this? I have a very strong prescription for my glasses as well.
First of all, it's sad to know what you had been going through lately.
Based on the history you have shared, it can be dry eyes leading to keratitis or conjunctival or scleral dryness. But ophthalmologist review is recommended to screen for all these causes. Very rarely watering can be due to blockage of lacrimal ducts.
Meanwhile, direct light exposure may be avoided using sunshades. Artificial tears can be tried to see if local dryness causes rapid evaporation of lacrimal secretions which lead to refractory over production or discharge.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
