What Causes Excess Sneezing, Nasal Congestion And Clogging Of Ears?

I am majorly stuffed up....been like this for a long long time...but now is worsening. I sneeze a lot and when I blow my nose (which is every 5 minutes) sometimes my right ear squeaks(inside) It feels like it may be getting clogged up, too. Should I have it looked at?

Hi Dear ,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have excess sneezing, nasal congestion and clogging of ears. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like allergies , hay fever , nasal polyps , chemical exposures , chronic sinusitis , tumors and a deviated septum .In some cases mucus spread from upper respiratory track infection to ears through eustachian tube . I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper examination . Doctor may order CT scan , nasal endoscopy , viral culture test and blood tests . Doctor may prescribe antibacterial or antiviral depending upon the diagnosis along with decongestant or expectorant . Doctor may also prescribe anti allergic or recommend surgery in case of deviated nasal septum or nasal polyp . For now apply warm compress on nose , keep your head elevated while sleeping , take steam , also apply dry warm compresses on external ear and take benadryl twice a day .
