What Causes Excessive Bilirubin Levels In A Leukemia Patient?

What can be a possible cause for excessive bilirubin levels on a patient that has had Leukemia and had a bone marrow transplant and is in remission. A liver biopsy was done and no problems were found there either. A cat scan has revealed no blockages.

Hi welcome to HCM....

Noted yo have high bilirubin level....
Your liver biopsy report and CT scan findings are normal....
So liver pathology seems less likely...

Let me know you hemolysis can lead to excess bilirubin production....
So hemolytic causes has to be ruled out.
For that peripheral smear examination and retic count done...LDH estimation also can be done....
Even resorption of hematoma can lead high bilirubin level....

So consult gastroenterologist for detail history and physical exination to investigate further.

Tale care.
