What Causes Excessive Bloating In The Abdomen And Nausea?

I have a 12 yr old girl who over the last 4 days suddenly feels like her intestines are expanding from gas and then feels nauseous. This comes on at random times of the day and is not constant throughout the day. It does seem to becoming on more often during the day. She is having normal BMs and not experiencing diarrhea and has not thrown up. She has not started her period yet. No fever.

Hello,

Bloating is when your belly feels swollen after eating. It is usually caused by excess gas production or disturbances in the movement of the muscles of the digestive system.

Bloating can often cause pain, discomfort and a "stuffed" feeling. It can also make your stomach look bigger.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Esmeralda Sera, Oncologist
