What Causes Excessive Sweating While On Diovan HCT, Pravastatin, Metformin And Cymbalta?

I have been sweating very badly recently even with very little activity. Someone had told me at a barbecue that it was one of the medications I was on but I didn t right it down and now can not figure out which one it was. Do you know if any of these can cause severe sweating? Valsartan-hctz, Pravastatin, Metformin or Cymbalta? Thank you.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

I can understand your concerns regarding excessive sweating. Of the listed medications cymbalta (duloxetine) appears to be responsible for the side effect of excessive sweating. You are advised to consult your treating your doctor to review the prescribed medicine and to prescribe an alternate effective but a safer medicine instead of cymbalta.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali, General & Family Physician
